March Newsletter – New Strides Forward

Exciting News

Exciting News Spring is coming and we’re excited for new growth. We’re feeling inspired. We are thrilled to announce that we have found a new space! We will be moving to Atwood Avenue this week. We have missed being able to connect in person and we look forward to building Flywheel’s new home base together! Stay tuned for details about our space warming party!!

Big Share Is This Week!

If you’ve already given, thank you so much!! If you haven’t, please take a moment to contribute to our annual Big Share Campaign, an online fundraising event hosted by Community Shares. Your donation is an investment in more collective and sustainable practices. Help us create a more liberated and just society.

Building independent, autonomous alternatives through skill sharing is more important than ever. Your support contributes to ending the structural violence of systems that produce racial disparities, economic exploitation, and other forms of harm.

Can we count on your support to reach our goal of $5000?  Donate today!

Thursday Skill Shares

Want help getting your garden going? Need a lift to the doctor, want to share your underused skills in tutoring, editing or just about anything? Please come to our Thursday Skill Share sessions which will feature skill shares from community members and help people connect with each other. These sessions are virtual right now but soon, you will be able to attend them in person as if you choose. We will keep the virtual option available ongoing. In person we can have snacks and beverages and enjoy each others company

The main point of these skill shares is to build on and expand what Timebank started with the offers and requests and also add a more collective option. We are investing more time and energy in making sure marginalized communities are at the table. We also want to identify the many things we all have to offer which are so routinely undervalued in capitalist and profit driven definitions of our strengths, assets and talents.

Our first skill share will be March 10 from 12pm to 1pm (check calendar for additional dates)

Flywheel Community Fire

This event is open to anyone wanting to share ideas for skill shares you think the Madison community might enjoy and benefit from. The main purpose is to give Timebankers, Skill Sharers and others a chance to relax and share ideas. And if you just want to come and listen and enjoy the fire, that’s cool too. Location tbd.

Website Update

We’re currently building and working out the kinks of the skill sharing component on our new website. All previous TimeBank members and their account balances have been transferred over to the new website. You can activate your Flywheel account by clicking members and following the prompts to reset your password. Be sure to check your junk mail for the password reset email if you don’t see it. Until the website is complete, our team will assist with skill shares and connections. Please email us if you need any support. Email [email protected] for assistance.  Thank you for your patience as we build the tools we need.

As always thank you for your support and investment in building community-based alternatives that will help us heal, take care of each other, and get free. Invest today.

Thank you for your support!

Your Dedicated Flywheel Team, Alexis, Lorrie and Damita
